Steward Dashboard
The Steward Dashboard provides transparency into data quality performance at an individual Data Steward level.
Every Source Message within CryspIQ® is assigned a Data Steward who is responsible for ensuring data quality issues are investigated and resolved.
The dashboard provides visibility into:
- Assigned Source Messages
- Open Data Quality Exceptions
- Resolved Exceptions
- Data Quality Trends
- DAMA Data Quality Dimensions
- Steward Performance Metrics
This enables organisations to clearly understand who owns each issue and ensures accountability remains visible throughout the business.
Overview
CryspIQ® follows a simple governance principle:
Data quality issues must be fixed at source.
CryspIQ® identifies issues but does not correct source data during processing.
When a Data Quality Rule fails:
- The issue is recorded in the Data Quality Exemption table.
- The responsible Data Steward is identified.
- The issue appears in the Steward Dashboard.
- The Data Steward investigates the root cause.
- The source system is corrected.
- Corrected data is re-pushed.
- The exception is automatically resolved.

Why the Steward Dashboard Exists
Many organisations struggle to answer:
- Who owns this issue?
- How many issues are assigned to each steward?
- Which stewards require assistance?
- Are issues being resolved promptly?
- Which source messages generate the most exceptions?
The Steward Dashboard provides complete visibility into stewardship responsibilities.
Dashboard Overview
The Steward Dashboard provides several key views.
Steward League Table
Provides a summary of stewardship activity across the organisation.
Example:
| Steward | Open Issues | Resolved This Month | Quality Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sarah Jones | 12 | 145 | 97% |
| Mark Smith | 18 | 132 | 95% |
| Lisa Brown | 27 | 118 | 92% |
This helps identify:
- Outstanding workloads
- Improvement opportunities
- Areas requiring additional support
Assigned Source Messages
Displays all Source Messages assigned to the selected Data Steward.
Example:
Customer Master
Product Master
Employee Master
Accounts Receivable
Sales Transactions
This enables Stewards to focus on the areas they own.
Open Data Quality Exceptions
Displays all active issues currently awaiting resolution.
Typical information includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Rule Name | Failed Data Quality Rule |
| Source Message | Source Message generating the issue |
| Business Function | Owning business area |
| Severity | Critical, High, Medium or Low |
| Date Identified | When the issue occurred |
| Status | Open or Resolved |
DAMA Dimension Analysis
The dashboard categorises issues according to DAMA dimensions.
Examples include:
| Dimension | Description |
|---|---|
| Completeness | Missing required information |
| Accuracy | Incorrect information |
| Validity | Invalid values |
| Consistency | Conflicting values |
| Timeliness | Late data |
| Integrity | Broken relationships |
| Uniqueness | Duplicate records |
This helps Data Stewards understand where quality improvements are required.
Investigating Data Quality Issues
When an exception appears:
Step 1 – Review the Exception
Understand:
- Which rule failed
- Which record is affected
- Severity of the issue
Step 2 – Review Source Message
Determine which Source Message generated the issue.
Examples:
Customer Master
Employee Master
Sales Orders
Products
Assets
Step 3 – Review Root Cause
Common causes include:
- Missing mandatory values
- Invalid formats
- Incorrect business keys
- Missing contextual information
- Duplicate records
Step 4 – Engage Source System Owners
The Data Steward works with the source system owner to correct the issue.
Examples:
- Finance Team
- HR Team
- Operations Team
- Sales Team
Step 5 – Re-Push Corrected Data
Once corrected, the source data is re-submitted through CryspIQ®.
Step 6 – Verify Resolution
CryspIQ® automatically marks the exemption as resolved once valid data arrives.
